Advised (during the period 1976-81) four successful PhD students who received their doctorates
from the Union Graduate School (now in Cincinnati, Ohio, but then in Yellow Springs, Ohio), two
of them in mathematics education for a textbook entitled Introduction to College Mathematics for
Inner City Students, which is infused with the contributions of Africans and African Americans to
the mathematical sciences.
